Issue

After deploying a package towards the environment, the old deployment package is still visible. It is not until after performing a hard refresh ( Chrome Mac: Command + Shift + R OR Chrome Windows: Control + Shift + R) that the new deployment package is now visible.

Cause

The reason for this behavior is because of a component of the Progressive Web App (PWA) architecture called the Service Worker. The service worker determines whether or not there is an update as it caches app resources so that the app can work without network connectivity.

Solution / Workaround

For apps built with Studio Pro 11.9.0+, it is possible implement a custom update mechanism so that the app updates to the latest available version. Additional steps can be found in the linked documentation below.
