App fails to start and build: The symbol has already been declared

Issue

After upgrading an app, the app no longer starts locally. The build fails during the client bundling phase with an error similar to the following:

(plugin commonjs-resolver) Error: Transform failed with 1 error: ...\deployment\web\pages\{Module}.{Page}.js:48:9: ERROR: The symbol "{NanoflowName}" has already been declared

Environment

• Studio Pro v11.12.5 and older
• Studio Pro v10.24.26 and older

Cause

Nanoflows that have the same name in different modules can cause Rollup compilation errors and incorrect Rspack runtime resolution. During bundling in Rollup, the duplicate names result in the build error. When using Rspack, a button calling one of the same-named nanoflows may link to the incorrect nanoflow.

Solution/Workaround

Rename one of the nanoflows so that the duplicate name no longer occurs across modules. Mendix is working on a fix for this bug in an upcoming version of Studio Pro.
