Issue

After migrating to the Mendix React client, the app does not function correctly. When navigating to the application, a popup message appears with the following text: [No translation]. No further actions can be taken inside the application.

In the console logs, the following message is found:

In the network tab, there is a failed call to url/metamodel.json. The call fails with a 404.

Studio Pro v10.7.0 and newer

Cause

The custom index.html for the Dojo client is incompatible with the React client.

Solution / Workaround

The structure of the index.html file is different for React and Dojo clients. To make sure the application works correctly, follow these steps:

Delete the custom app/theme/web/index.html, or rename it temporarily.
Run the local deployment and copy the app/deployment/web/index-example.html to app/theme/web/index.html. This is the new index.html file.
Apply customization where required.

To keep the custom index.html files for both clients, name the React client index file index-react.html. This file takes precedence when the React client is enabled, while the index.html is used for Dojo client deployments.
