Issue

After adding an external Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in Mendix Studio Pro 11.10.0, the connection fails after the initial handshake. This occurs on both HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Server-Sent Events (SSE).

The connection indicator briefly turns green after the initial handshake, then turns orange after 30–60 seconds with the following error:

Retrying… Health check failed. Connection timed out. The server took too long to respond.

This occurs across all sources, including local and internet connections.

Environment

Studio Pro v11.10.0

Cause

A defect in the MCP client introduced in Mendix Studio Pro version 11.10.0 causes the client to incorrectly time out after the initial handshake, resulting in the connection failure.

Solution / Workaround

Mendix Studio Pro version 11.11.0 fixes the MCP client issue. Upgrade to this version to resolve the issue.
