Error Importing UserCommons module in Studio Pro 11.9: System.Exception: There was a problem reading the widget package

Issue

Downloading the UserCommons module into a Studio Pro 11.9 application via the Marketplace causes the module to fail to import. The download completes without errors but does not add the module to the application. When manually importing any version of the UserCommons module, the following error occurs:

System.Exception: There was a problem reading the widget package from the module at Mendix.Modeler.WebUI.WidgetPackages

Cause

A bug in Studio Pro version 11.9 caused this issue by affecting the widget package reading process during module import. The issue prevented the UserCommons module from being properly imported into applications running on this specific version.

Solution/Workaround

This issue has been resolved in Studio Pro version 11.9.1. To resolve the problem, follow these steps:

1. Upgrade your Studio Pro to version v11.9.1 or higher
2. Attempt to download the UserCommons module again from the Marketplace

Workaround for Studio Pro 11.9:

If upgrading is not immediately possible, work around this issue by following these steps:

1. Open the module in a Studio Pro version v11.8 or lower
2. Upgrade the module from version v11.8 to v11.9 within that environment
3. Export the upgraded module
4. Import the exported module into your Studio Pro v11.9 application
