Issue

When setting the License Keys for an operator license for Mendix on Kubernetes, the following error message appears in the operator logs:

"logger":"controller_mendixapp","msg":"Failed to parse configured Runtime License Key"

Cause

From Mendix Operator v.2.23.0 on, operator licenses are no longer required for Mendix on Kubernetes. However, between versions v.2.23.0 and v.2.25.x, the Mendix Operator may still attempt to parse the license keys, resulting in the error above.

Solution / Workaround

This issue has been fixed in Mendix Operator v.2.26.0. Upgrading to this version (or newer) will prevent these errors from appearing.

The error does not typically come accompanied by functional issues such as deployment failures, runtime errors or downtime and, therefore, may be safely ignored until the version upgrade.
