Published custom Starter App not appearing as an option when creating a new project

Issue

A custom Starter App published on the Marketplace is not appearing as an option when attempting to create a new project on studio pro.

Environment

Studio Pro (all versions)

Cause

The most probable cause is that the category selection is missing or incorrectly assigned for the component in the Mendix Marketplace.

Solution / Workaround

To make the custom Starter App available for use in Studio Pro, it needs to be correctly categorized in the Mendix Marketplace.

  1. Go to Mendix Marketplace and find the custom Starter App in the published components list.
  2. Locate the option to edit the details of the component.
  3. Please make sure, below options are selected:
    • Component Type is set to "Starter App"
    • Category is set to "Starter Apps"
  4. After making the necessary adjustments, save the changes.
  5. Close and reopen Mendix Studio Pro and try creating a new project again.
