Mendix Operator download failing due to antivirus detection of mxpc-cli.exe file in Mendix on Kubernetes

Issue

While creating a Mendix on Kubernetes cluster, while downloading the Mendix Operator, during the installation and configuration process, the mxpc-cli.exe file is stored in the system, and the following message is shown:

This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

As a result, the Mendix Operator download fails to complete.

Environment

Applications hosted in Mendix on Kubernetes

Cause

Some antivirus programs may incorrectly detect the mxpc-cli.exe file as a threat. This is a false positive triggered by the antivirus software and is not related to any problem with the Mendix platform or the Mendix on Kubernetes environment.

Solution / Workaround

  • To resolve this issue, follow one of these steps:
  • Disable the antivirus software temporarily while running the mxpc-cli.exe file. This will allow the file to execute without being interrupted by the antivirus.
  • Add mxpc-cli.exe file as an exception in antivirus settings to prevent it from being flagged in the future.
  • If uncertain about how to disable the antivirus or add an exception, it is recommended to contact the company's internal IT team.
