Mendix periodically cleans up free apps that have not been modified in over a year. This article outlines the steps to prevent a free app from being deleted.

Instructions/procedure

A free app can be kept active by taking one of the following actions:

• Visit the free app: Simply accessing the free app in the Mendix Portal will prevent it from being marked as inactive.

• Deploy a new version of the app: Deploying a new version of the app to the Free App environment ensures that it remains active.

• Make changes and commit to Team Server: Any changes committed to the Team Server reset the inactivity period.

• Pin the app: Pinning an app indicates that it is actively maintained.

• Invite a collaborator to the app: Adding a new team member signals ongoing activity and prevents archiving.

Outcome

By following these steps, a free app can remain active and will not be archived or deleted during Mendix’s automated cleanup process.
