Introduction

Changing or updating the application name and the environment names (namespace) for a specific license is not possible. This article provides an alternative to resolve this situation.

Instructions/Procedure

Since there is no direct way to rename an application and environment names (namespace) for a license, it is necessary to request a new operator license and a new subscription secret with the updated application and namespace names by following these steps:

1. Submit a request to obtain a Mendix license via the Request New App Node app. Fill in the necessary information and specify in the comments that this request is for renaming an application and its environment

2. Receive a new operator license and subscription secret 

3. Activate the license as described in our documentation Licensing Mendix for Private Cloud

Outcome

Mendix Support will offboard and deactivate the application to be renamed (including the environment to be renamed)
