Introduction

This article explains how to install Mendix Studio Pro on Windows devices without administrator rights by using the Portable Installer.

Environment/Prerequisites

• Studio Pro (all versions)

Instructions/Procedure

Studio Pro can be installed without admin rights by following the steps listed below:

1. In the browser, navigate to the Get Studio Pro page in the Mendix Marketplace.
2. Browse through the listed versions and click on the version number (the version numbers are clickable hyperlinks) of the version to be installed.
3. Scroll down to the Portable Versions section and download the installer compatible with the machine's processor (x64 or ARM), as shown in the screenshot below: 
4. Click on the downloaded file to run the installer and follow the installation steps.

Note: Versions of Studio Pro that are installed via the portable installer do not show up in the Mendix Version Selector. However, these versions can be manually added by clicking Add custom version and specifying the path to the executable file of the Studio Pro version.

Outcome

By following the steps mentioned above, Mendix Studio Pro can be successfully installed without administrator rights.
