Issue

Changing the default string data type from NVARCHAR to VARCHAR for specific attributes is necessary; however, Mendix does not provide this option.

Cause

Mendix does not allow for manual setting of string types.

Solution/Workaround

Mendix does not verify the column type if altered manually. Therefore, modifying it post-creation might succeed. However, if it fails, the Mendix Support team cannot provide any support.
