Introduction

Nodes with the Flexible Environments flag enabled have the possibility of having any of their environments names changed, including the Production environment. This task can only be performed by the application's Technical Contact.

Instructions/Procedure

1. In Mendix Portal, go on Deployment > Environments > Deploy > Environments.
2. Press the Details button of the environment to be renamed.
3. Click on Change in front of the environment Name.
4. A pop-up window will appear. Write the desired environment name and press Rename. 

Please note that all environment names except 'Production' will be reflected on the app's URL. In other words, if the environment is named Production, the URL will look like the one below, with mendixapp being substituted by the node's subdomain:

If, otherwise, the environment has any other name, it will be reflected in the new URL, as the screenshot below shows:

Outcome

The environment name and, consequentially, the environment's URL will be altered to reflect the change.
